Châteauguay versera 224 000$ à ses élus sortants

(English follows) La Ville de Châteauguay versera un total de 224 000$ aux cinq candidats qui n’ont pas été réélus au terme des élections du 5 novembre. La mairesse sortante Nathalie Simon recevra une allocation de transition de 88 265$, ainsi qu’une allocation de départ de 27 159$, pour un total de 115 424$. Ce montant lui est versé en vertu de la Loi sur le traitement des élus municipaux en vigueur au Québec et le règlement G-1749 adopté le 19 décembre 2006 concernant l’allocation de transition des élus municipaux de la Ville de Châteauguay, précise Martin Gendron, trésorier et directeur des finances à la Ville. Les quatre conseillers sortants qui n’ont pas été réélus recevront quant à eux une allocation de transition de 22 066$ chacun. Le conseiller sortant Michel Pinard et la conseillère sortante Marie-France Reid recevront en plus une allocation de départ de 3 395$, alors que les conseillers sortants Alain Côté et Pierre Gloutnay recevront une allocation de départ de 6 790$ chacun. Cette deuxième allocation est entre autres calculée en fonction du nombre de mandats effectués. Élus sortants Allocation totale:

Chateauguay will pay $224 000 to its departing elected officials

The City of Chateauguay will pay a total of $224,000 to the five candidates who were not re-elected in the November 5 elections. Outgoing Mayoress Nathalie Simon will receive a transition allowance of $88,265, as well as a departure allowance of $27,159 for a total of $115,424. This amount is being paid to her by virtue of the law on the treatment of municipal elected officials in force in Quebec and bylaw G-1749 adopted on December 19, 2006 regarding the transfer allowance of municipal elected officials of the City of Chateauguay, explains Martin Gendron, the City's treasurer and director of finances. The four departing councillors who were not re-elected will receive a transition allowance of $22,066 each. Outgoing councillors Michel Pinard and Marie-France Reid will also receive a departure allowance of $3,395, while outgoing councillors Alain Cote and Pierre Gloutnay will receive a departure allowance of $6,790 apiece. This second allocation is, among other things, calculated according to the number of mandates fulfilled.
