Élections Châteauguay: Pierre-Paul Routhier dévoile sa plateforme électorale

(English follows) Le candidat à la mairie de Châteauguay Pierre-Paul Routhier a procédé le 4 octobre au dévoilement de sa plateforme électorale devant environ 200 sympathisants rassemblés dans le local du parti.
Dans un discours à ses partisans, l’aspirant maire a d’abord présenté les candidats aux postes de conseillers qui se présentent sous les couleurs de son équipe. Il a insisté sur le mot «équipe» en promettant qu’il n’y aura pas de règles imposées s’il est élu. «Chacun pourra voter selon ses convictions», a promis l’avocat de profession. Il a poursuivi en énumérant les cinq valeurs sur lesquelles s’articule son programme.
Dette et taux de taxation
Vision Châteauguay-Équipe Routhier Team propose d’abord un «meilleur» contrôle de la dette et du taux de taxation. «Ce taux est actuellement l’un des plus élevés de la région», a fait valoir l’aspirant maire, qui a promis de faire changer les choses «en s’assurant que les dépenses sont profitables, et en favorisant le développement». Sur ce dernier point, il a entre autres promis de mettre en place, s’il est élu, un guichet unique pour aider les commerçants et les industries qui souhaitent s’implanter à Châteauguay.
Fierté, dynamisme et honnêteté
La plateforme mise également sur des valeurs de fierté des Châteauguois pour leur ville, sur le dynamisme du milieu (avec entre autres une «réappropriation» des berges de la rivière et l’ajout d’activités de loisirs à l’île Saint-Bernard), et sur la transparence et l’honnêteté. «Vous ne verrez jamais d’enveloppes brunes circuler», a garanti M. Routhier.

Chateauguay mayoral candidate Pierre-Paul Routhier proceeded on October 4 with unveiling his electoral platform in front of an estimated 200 sympathizers gathered at the party's headquarters.
In a speech to his partisan followers, the aspiring mayor first introduced the candidates for councillor posts who are presenting themselves under Routhier team colours. He insisted on using the word « team » while promising that there will be no rules imposed on members if he is elected. « Everyone will be able to vote according to his or her convictions, » vowed the candidate who is a lawyer by profession. He continued by enumerating the five values on which his program is articulated.
Debt, taxation rate
The Vision Châteauguay-Équipe Routhier Team is first of all proposing « better » control of the debt and the tax rate. « This rate is actually one of the highest in the region, » noted the aspiring mayor, who promised to have things change « by assuring that the expenses are profitable, and by promoting development. » On this last point, he promised, among other things, to put in place, if he is elected, a unique counter to help merchants and industrialists who wish to establish themselves in Chateauguay.
