Élections municipales: Steve Brisebois propose un gel de taxes foncières pour les aînés

(English follows) S’il est élu aux prochaines élections, le candidat indépendant à la mairie de Châteauguay, Steve Brisebois, promet entre autres d’améliorer la qualité de vie des aînés en gelant le compte de taxes foncières de certains d’entre eux. «Je vais mettre de la pression pour obtenir une loi provinciale sur le gel des taxes foncières pour les personnes du troisième âge à revenu fixe. Je présenterai l'idée et je travaillerai avec des groupes de personnes âgées pour faire avancer ce projet. Cela aidera les aînés à rester chez eux, dans leurs propres maisons, plus longtemps», énonce-t-il dans un communiqué le 12 octobre. Améliorer la qualité de vie L’aspirant maire promet aussi de travailler sur différents aspects afin d’améliorer la qualité de vie des Châteauguois. Il propose notamment de réduire l’empreinte écologique, «individuellement et collectivement», en contrôlant les coûts de chauffage dans les bâtiments municipaux et en réduisant la consommation d’eau. Le renforcement des liens entre la police et la communauté, l’amélioration des services de transports en commun et une meilleure promotion du talent local sur le plan cultuel figurent également à sa liste. «Je crois vraiment que lorsque nous, la Ville et les citoyens, travaillons ensemble, nous pouvons et nous allons tout accomplir. La participation des citoyens sera la clé de mon mandat à la mairie», conclut-il. (English version)

Municipal elections: Brisebois proposes tax freeze for seniors
