8 candidates in Chateauguay-Lacolle

Eight candidates are hoping to obtain the post of federal MP in the Chateauguay-Lacolle riding on October 21. Here is a general view of the nominations. Valérie Lessard Translation Dan Rosenburg The outgoing Liberal MP, Brenda Shanahan, is seeking a second mandate. Qualified in business administration and social service, this Chateauguay resident has notably worked as a banker, social worker and financial educator before being elected in 2015. Hugues Laplante presents himself with the Conservative Party of Canada team. A resident of Ste. Martine, he is the Eastern Canada director of sales for a security company. He had founded his own enterprise in the early 2000s and he sold it to a multi-national operation. Claudia Valdivia wears the colours of the Bloc Quebecois. Originally from Chile, she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1974. Valdivia is a graphist-communications counsellor for the Quebec government. Chateauguay resident Jeff Benoit represents the People’s Party of Canada. A bus driver for the Montreal Transport Society, he presented himself for the Quebec Conservative Party in the 2018 provincial elections. Meryam Haddad offers her nomination to the Green Party of Canada. Originally from Syria, she established herself in Canada at the age of five with her family. A lawyer, she has been practising immigration law since 2013. Marc Gagnon wishes to be elected with the Party for Quebec Independence. Gagnon is the ex-vice-president of the Bloc Quebecois Party’s local executive in Chateauguay-Lacolle. Along with other directors of the executive, they founded a new pro-independence party, saying they were dissatisfied with their former party. Marika Lalime is the candidate for the New Democratic Party. At press time, no information about her was available. Pierre Chénier is running for the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada. He is one of the 50 candidates that this political formation is presenting across the country. Advance poll The advance poll will take place On October 11, 12, 13 and 14. The address of the voting location is indicated on the information card received in the mail.
