A look at COVID cases inside Chateauguay English schools since January

Since January 2021, 14 students and 3 staff members from Chateauguay English schools have tested positive for COVID-19, the New Frontiers School Board said on March 11th. Over half of them were infected during the Christmas holidays and spring break, resulting in fewer closed classes. In total, four classes went to online learning. January 1st to March 11th Report Centennial Park School – 2 students confirmed The two cases were discovered during the Christmas holidays. The students didn’t attend school while infected, so no classes were closed. Harmony Elementary – 1 student and 1 staff member confirmed The staff member received a positive test over the Christmas holidays. One class switched to online learning. Mary Gardner School – 2 students confirmed Both cases were discovered during spring break and the students didn’t attend school while infected, so no classes were closed. St. Willibrord School – 4 students and 1 staff member confirmed Two of the students tested positive before attending school. One class switched to online learning. Howard S. Billings High School – 4 students and 1 staff member confirmed Two of the students tested positive over the Christmas holidays. Two classes switched to online learning. Nova Career Center – 1 student confirmed No classes were closed. According to the New Frontiers School Board, Public Health said the student hadn’t been in the building enough to pose a risk.
