Activities for Halloween in Châteauguay

Little ones can celebrate Halloween one week earlier in Châteauguay this year with a virtual show and a carnival of little monsters. Young people aged 2 to 8 are invited to attend the virtual show. Lili Boo, the witch with fairy fingers, is on October 24, as of 11 am. It costs $5 per person and $2 for members of the municipal library. Registration, either directly at the Raymond-Laberge Library or via phone at 450 698-3080, is mandatory. The link to attend the virtual show online will be sent to participants. The same day, from noon to 4 pm, families can pass by in their vehicles to pick up a pumpkin decorating kit at the Agora as part of the Little Monsters’ Carnival. Characters will also come to the event. Many surprises await young people aged 2 to 7 years old. The activity is free of charge, but those interested should register with the City. Online Escape Room From October 29th to 31st, make way for online escape rooms. Two 90-minute scenarios are available to families. “The Night of Monsters” is for young people aged 8 and up, accompanied by an adult. “The Invocation of Bloody Mary” is created for people aged 16 and up. These activities are free. Reservations are mandatory at www.ville.chateauguay.qc.ca/halloween2020. During the night of October 30th to 31st, a sleepless night of horror movies will take place at the Georges-P.-Vanier Cultural Centre for youth aged 13 and up. The event begins at 8 pm on October 30th. On the schedule: six horror movies presented in French and subtitled in English, special animation and candy. The activity is free, but it is important to reserve a place via telephone at 450 698-3100. Maximum number of participants: 42. If the red zone is maintained in Châteauguay past October 28 due to the pandemic, the event will be cancelled according to information posted on the City’s website. The City is hosting its 5th haunted house contest for residents who decorated their house for Halloween. Members of a jury will visit decorated homes on the evening of October 31st. There will be two categories: best decor and best staging. The activity is free of charge, but requires registration with the City.
