Chateauguay mayoral candidate Eric Allard is including a newcomer on his team which is running in the Quebec municipal elections in November 2021. Luc Daoust has become the seventh candidate announced. He is running in District #7. De Le Moyne which is currently represented by Allard. “Married and the father of two children, a 19-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son, Luc has been living in Chateauguay for over 40 years. He remains extremely involved in Chateauguay’s sports community. Daoust has been a hockey and soccer coach for many years.” Allard said in a communique. Daoust, among other things, occupies the post of director of the Chateauguay minor hockey division and is in charge of the coaches. As a volunteer, he says he has “observed aspects that need to be improved in relations and communications with the municipality.” He also does “work towards a greater recognition of Chateauguay’s volunteers, because they are a valuable asset to our community.” On the professional level, Daoust works for a Chateauguay establishment where he oversees the customer service department. The candidate believes that his work experience and his commitment to minor sports “will be undeniable assets in representing the citizens of the district.” He asserts having been attracted by “the values” of the Eric Allard team. “That is why I am joining this group, which is already very experienced and open to dialogue with citizens. Because of its values, this team was an obvious choice for me,” Daoust explains. Allard qualifies the arrival of Daoust as a “perfect match. Luc is a guy who is very involved in the community, who listens to people and is incredibly determined. His goal is to make this city a better place for its citizens and I know he will do everything he can to make that happen,” Allard indicates. Daoust’s candidature adds to those of Allard and outgoing councillors Lucie Laberge, Barry Doyle, Eric Corbeil and Mike Gendron, as well as Arlene Bryant, a newcomer to municipal politics.
