Canada Post is open to making arrangements with residents of certain streets that are under construction in Chateauguay where mail delivery to their homes is being temporarily interrupted this summer.

Isabelle Seguin, a resident of the Lalemant street sector affected by aqueduct works, on July 24 received a notice from Canada Post informing her that she should from now on go get her mail at her postal unit on Vanier Blvd. in Chateauguay between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. from Monday to Friday. It's a schedule that did not suit her at all because she works days, she told the Soleil.

The modalities forecast in the notice are not written in cement, according to Canada Post spokesman Philippe Legault. He invited Seguin and all the people whom the prescribed schedule did not suit to communicate with local supervisor Jean Desjadins at the number written on the notice – 450-699-7156 – to make other arrangements.

The delivery of mail is supposed to resume normally at the end of the construction in September. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
