Boum de construction en 2018 à Châteauguay

(English follows) Le bilan des permis de construction octroyés pendant l’année 2018 à Châteauguay montre une hausse des investissements de 68% par rapport à l’année précédente.   La valeur de l’ensemble des permis et certificats délivrés par la municipalité se chiffre à 81,3 M$, comparativement à 43,5 M$ en 2017. Le nombre total de permis est quant à lui passé de 1 105 en 2017 à 1 330 en 2018. Ce qui représente une augmentation de 20% et «le plus grand nombre de permis jamais octroyés par la Ville en dix ans», souligne celle-ci dans un communiqué. (Photo: Patricia Blackburn)[/caption] Ce sont les secteurs institutionnel et industriel qui expliquent en grande partie ce boum de la construction sur le territoire.  La nouvelle école spécialisée (18,8 M$), en construction boulevard Sutterlin, et l’agrandissement de l’école primaire Gérin-Lajoie (12,8M$) sont parmi les investissements les plus importants du côté institutionnel.  Côté industriel, l’implantation de la nouvelle usine YourBarFactory (8 M$) et l’agrandissement de plusieurs autres compagnies (CMP, Promett, Ekyrail, Technoform, Clermont, MacLean et STCH) ont contribué au regain. Regain qui se chiffre à 14 M$ d’investissements au total comparativement à 2,6 M$ en 2017.    Les ventes de terrains se chiffrent quant à elles à 1,5 M$.  Délais de traitement plus court  La Division inspection et permis rapporte pour l’année 2018 quelque 1007 requêtes (plaintes, demandes internes, demandes d’information), comparativement à 781 l’année précédente. À cet égard, la Ville soutient avoir amélioré les délais de traitement de ces requêtes en 2018, avec une moyenne de 51 jours alors qu’en 2017, cette moyenne était de 111 jours.  [caption id="attachment_58356" align="alignnone" width="521"] Bilan des permis de construction 2018. The total number of permits climbed from 1,105 in 2017 to 1,330 in 2018. That represents an increase of 20% and ‘’the greatest number of permits granted by the City in 10 years,’’ the municipality underlined in a communiqué.  Industrial and institutional factors  The institutional and industrial sectors explain this construction boom on the territory in great part.  The new specialized school ($18.8 million) under construction on Sutterlin Blvd., and the expansion of Gerin-Lajoie Elementary School ($12.8 million) are among the most important investments from an institutional standpoint.   On the industrial side, the implementation of the new YourBarFactory plant ($8 million) and the expansion of several other companies (CMP, Promett, Ekyrail, Technoform, Clermont, MacLean and STCH) contributed to the revival. It’s a revival that reaches a total of $14 million worth of investments compared to $2.6 million in 2017.    The sales of lots amount to $1.5 million  Shorter treatment delay   The City’s inspection and permits department for 2018 reports 1,007 requests (complaints, internal requests, information requests), compared to 781 the previous year. To this consideration, the City claims to have improved the delays for treating these requests in 2018, with an average of 51 days while in 2017, this average was 111 days.
