La population est attendue à l’Agora citoyenne du boulevard Maple le dimanche 1er juillet pour un feu roulant d’activités.
Le chœur La Bohème donnera le coup d’envoi aux célébrations à 10h30 en interprétant l’hymne national. La députée fédérale Brenda Shanahan, le député provincial Pierre Moreau et le maire de Châteauguay Pierre-Paul Routhier procéderont ensuite à la levée du drapeau.
Les spectacles suivront de 11h30 à 22h. Le gâteau sera servi à 13h45. L’admission est gratuite.
La journée est organisée par l’Association héritage irlandais de Châteauguay et Vallée, en collaboration avec la municipalité. Le comité organisateur est composé de Michael McGinn, Cindy Boulanger, Guy Irish Berger, Amy Vaugh, Shirley Deegan, Patricia Martineau, Nancy Martineau, Henry Gagnon et Fred Applebee
Pour ceux qui se poseraient la question, non il n’y aura pas de feux d’artifice le 30 juin. Le budget ne le permet pas, a précisé l’organisation.

True to the tradition Canada’s anniversary will be celebrated in Chateauguay.
The population is expected at the Citizens’ Square on Maple Blvd. on July 1 for a steady stream of activities.
The La Bohème Choir will kick off the celebrations at 10 :30 a.m. with their interpretation of the national anthem. Federal Chateauguay-Lacolle MP Brenda Shanahan, provincial MNA Pierre Moreau and Chateauguay Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier will then proceed with the raising of the flag.
The entertainment will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. The birthday cake will be served at 1:45 p.m. Admission is free.
The event is being organized by the Chateauguay and Valley Irish Heritage Association, in conjunction with the municipality. The organizing committee is composed of Michael McGinn, Cindy Boulanger, Guy Irish Berger, Amy Vaughn, Shirley Deegan, Patricia Martineau, Nancy Martineau, Henry Gagnon and Fred Applebee.
For those who would ask the question, no, there will be no fireworks display on June 30. The budget does not allow for it, the organizing committee explained.
