In the last few days, several cases of coronavirus have been detected in the region. Ville de Châteauguay has implemented all the measures recommended by the public health authorities and is enforcing them diligently. We are in contact daily with prevention experts to maintain best practices. Several employees who were tested received negative results and those still awaiting their results are in preventive isolation. Ville de Châteauguay wants to rectify certain facts and confirm that, contrary to what was stated at the council meeting on Monday, July 6, no positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected for the moment in the Activ’Été  day camp leaders and employees who were in contact with children at the Camp Nautique or the Camp Aventurier. One case is related to the nautical centre and the person was not in contact with customer service or  with the children at the camps. The situation is being handled by public health, and we have put all the recommendations in place. We want to take this opportunity to remind you that many prevention measures are being applied daily in all Ville  de Châteauguay activities, as well as regular cleaning rounds. The employees are all obliged to submit a daily health declaration and they are excluded from the workplace if there is any doubt at all. Every employee has also  been made aware of their responsibility to comply with the hygiene and physical distancing rules, even outside the context of work. Please rest assured that we are taking the situation seriously and that our priority is everyone’s health and safety. If a case were to be confirmed in the day camp or in a place regularly accessed by residents or other users, you can be sure that you will be informed promptly.
