Châteauguay’s city council has made an agreement-in-principle with Exo to convert the city incentive parking into a terminal.  “Upon completion, the new Châteauguay terminal will include a service centre with a ticket office, an indoor waiting area, public restrooms, a loop of 10 platforms and an additional 2 platforms with canopies to shelter clients from poor weather conditions, a parking lot with some 600 spaces and a landscaped area whose surface is 14% larger than anticipated in the original plans,” explained Gina Guillemette, spokesperson for Exo in an email dated September 28th.   “If we obtain all of the required authorizations within the timeframe and there aren’t any major unforeseen events, our aim is to be operational in 2023,” she stated. The next steps will consist of demolishing the building on the site and decontaminating the lot. Exo will then finalize the studies and obtain the necessary authorizations to launch a call for tenders for construction. “If nothing affects the timeline, the decontamination could begin in the spring of 2021,” the spokesperson said.
