Reese Durrant of Chateauguay and his N.D.G Lynx U13 teammates represented Canada in the Little League World Series intermediate division in Livermore, California from August 2-8.

Playing against teams from other provinces and countries is a lot of fun and a great experience. I have been fortunate to have made a lot of new friends here and learned many new things from them. It is an amazing feeling to be one of the few in the country to get here. It is  fun and an exciting experience that I’ll never forget, » commented the Chateauguay player in an email.

Field of 11 teams

Six teams of youngsters aged 12-13 representing U.S. regions and five championship  clubs from their corner of the globe were in action at Livermore. The Canadians finished with a mark of one vicory and two defeats. They beat the U.S. Central entry 6-2 but bit the dust 9-4 to Puerto Rico and 9-2 to the Virgin Islands.

Canadian champions

Durrant and his mates led by coach Frank Martinez reached the World Series by winning the Canadian championship last month in St. John, New Brunswick. They completed the round-robin portion with five triumphs in as many starts, scoring 77 runs against their opponents while allowing only 10.

Durrant sparkled on the mound as well as at the plate.
