Chateauguay City Council is going to adopt new rules concerning the collection of branches from citizens on its territory. The exercise will take place twice a year. The limit to obtain the service free of charge will be four cubed metres per residence. Between four cubed metres and 10 cubed metres, a tariff will be applicable. A size of over 10 cubed metres will simply not be picked up. A notice of motion announcing the new bylaw was presented at the council meeting of November 16. The large quantity of branches to be gathered during the spring collection motivated this decision. The operation stretched over several weeks. “It was pretty laborious,” observed Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
