COVID-19 : Only one seniors residence affected in region

One lone seniors residence was affected by the COVID-19 on the Chateauguay Soleil territory at press time Friday. Translation Dan Rosenburg Aside from the Beauharnois Residence, no other establishment for elderly people in the region figured on the list of the homes for seniors in Quebec affected by at least one case of coronavirus infection. The list was made public by the provincial government on April 14 and was regularly updated. About 150 CHSLDs and Residences for seniors are inscribed on it, classified in three categories: “red”, “orange” and “yellow”, according to the profusion of the contagion. The Beauharnois Residence is found in the “orange” category with 13 cases representing 29% of its residents. Three deaths are deplored there. COVID-19 cases confirmed in the cities of Chateauguay and Mercier are not found in the CHSLDs and seniors residences in these municipalities.
