(English follows).

Chateauguay elections: Citizens' Action Party depends on integrity and capitalization of work begun

The Action Citoyenne-Citizens' Action team, the party of outgoing Mayoress Nathalie Simon, is advising citizens to inform themselves about « neutral authorities »  in order not to be « deceived' during the election campaign. «Integrity also means giving accurate information to the citizens, » Simon commented in a communique on September 19. « To trick the general public by brandishing alternate facts to them, in the form of erroneous facts to obtain votes, this is not our way of doing things. We want to win honestly and we know that integrity is an important value for the citizens, » she added. «We hear rubbish » When Le Soleil de Châteauguay asked Simon what she meant by « alternative facts » and « deceptions, » she pointed the finger at comments on Facebook, among other things, and figures reported by certain candidates in open letters or elsewhere. « Some numbers which are reported through bribes, out of context, and which no longer mean anything, » she remarks. « We hear all kinds of things. But all we wish to say to the people regarding that, is that we are not part of it. We want to stand firmly on integrity, ethics and intellectual honesty, » she declared. Continue the work begun As for her program, the Mayoress says she wants to continue the work already started if she is given another mandate. She specifies that the priorities of her party remain the same : « dynamize the economy and development, » « improve dialogue between the City and its citizens, » « the quality of services offered to the general public, » « to render the City more welcoming for families, the youth, the elderly, the businesses, » and « to control public expenses and to watch over the upkeep of infrastructures. » «We know that there is a lot do to respond to today's preoccupations, but we also have a high number of achievements and great success of which we can collectively be very proud, » Simon concluded.
