Châteauguay residents will be treated to several family activities and free concerts on Canada Day at the Agora, on Maple Boulevard.

The festivities will begin at 1:30 p.m. on July 1st with inflatable games for the little ones, as well as makeup booths and entertainment until 4:30 p.m. In addition to musical performances, Pat Pet Show will be on site with his exotic animals.

An official ceremony will take place afterwards.

Between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., spectators can enjoy live music by Stéphanie Tapp, Stephen Noel, Acoustica, 4 Decades, and Mich and the Blues Bastards, among others.

Several kiosks and food trucks will be on site.

The Châteauguay and Valley Irish Heritage Association had a budget of over $8 000 to organize the festivities. Canadian Heritage provided $3 000 and the City of Châteauguay $5, 000, as well as technical support. The organizing committee also received help from several sponsors.

There will be no fireworks presentation. The event will be smaller than in previous years, as the Association has had less time and funding due to the pandemic, organizing committee member Nathalie Simon said.
