International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The Monteregie West Community Network is organizing the first International Women’s Day Brunch to be held in Chateauguay on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the church hall of Our Lady of Our Perpetual Help Church.  With over 150 women from the English-speaking community already signed up to attend, the event promises to be a great success.  Participants will be treated to a free breakfast, and live music from local songstress, Maria Digout.  Additionally, we will hear inspiring talks from Joyce Shanahan, local resident, mother of 9, and president of the Chateauguay Senior Citizen’s Group who will speak about her life experiences; Bonnie Mak, DTM a professional actress and 3 time Ironman triathlete who will explore the meaning of life through laughter, vulnerability and joy; and Amanda Rocheleau, BSW, MSW, RSW a compassion fatigue specialist from Ottawa who will redefine self-care, help reignite our compassion and reconnect with our authentic selves.  There will be door prizes drawn and special giveaways for all who attend.  Anyone interested in attending can register by calling 450-691-1444 before March 5th. We hope you will join us for this inaugural event that we hope will become an annual affair for the English-speaking women of the Monteregie West area.
