The City of Chateauguay shortly will launch a call for bids for the management of a new ecocentre on its territory. Translation Dan Rosenburg City Council directed by Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier gave a mandate to that effect to the municipality’s department of supplies at the public meeting of February 17. The contract will be issued for a period ending in December of 2021. First of all, the municipality proceeded with a zoning change to enlarge the zone of its Industrial Park so that it is able to welcome the type of enterprise desired, ‘’to obtain more bidders,’’ the Mayor indicated. As is the case with other cities, Chateauguay has had to change the supplier for its ecocentre following the registration of Melimax, which was assuring the service, to the Register of enterprises that are non-admissible for public contracts. List of recuperators While awaiting the return of an ecocentre, the citizens can get rid of certain materials, in return for financial considerations. Some products such as the contents of paint cans, are recuperated by certain businesses at no cost. Interested parties can consult a repertoire of recuperators on the De Roussillon MRC website.
