A Chateauguay grandmother who devoted lots of energy into decorating her house for Halloween was grieving on Wednesday. ’’When he came home last night, my son told me, ‘’Mom, they stole all your decorations,’’ Elizabeth Carroll recounted. The lady had hand-made all the elements arranged in front of her house on St. Eugene street, including a large witch. ‘’They will not be able to reuse them; they are unique,’’ said the woman. The culprit(s) used her brown bin to carry off the booty. So ‘’Brutus’’ also must be replaced. Mrs. Carroll has been brightening up her property for the October 31 holiday for several years. ‘’Last year, I received visits from 300 children,’’ she emphasized. This is the first time she has been robbed. ‘’Why?’’ she asks. ‘’I am very disappointed.’’ During her stop at Le Soleil’s offices, she was expecting that her five-year-old granddaughter Katelyn, who was coming to visit her that afternoon, would also be disappointed. ‘’She notices everything,’’ assured her grandmother. A complaint has been filed with Chateauguay police.
