The rush of generosity of an 11-year-old boy for the Chateauguay Food Bank resulted in moving a mountain of non-perishable food. With the help of his parents, Tanya Morlock and Tim Leduc-Lavigne, Nathan at the beginning of November undertook to collect donations for the group. His goal was to fill a vehicle with food. It finally took a big truck to transport the food donations received. The family carried out the delivery on Saturday, December 12 with a vehicle lent to it by the City of Chateauguay. Touched by the boy’s initiative, Chateauguay MNA MarieChantal Chasse and her colleague, Ste. Rose MNA Christopher Skeete, came in person to give the Food Bank a cheque of $3,000. Your actions remind us of the values of sharing and compassion which accompany the Christmas holiday. I encourage those who can follow your example!” Chasse expressed on Facebook. That amount was added to the $1,500 offered by donors. In addition to cash, Nathan collected 92 boxes of food, 42 cases of hygienic paper and 24 cases of paper towels. How did the family react to the population’s response? “Nathan is so proud of how the City came together and we were all able to spread some joy in this time of need,” his mother said. “Both his father and I are proud of his dedication and were amazed at how the community came together and we were all able to spread some joy in this time of need. Together we can make a difference.” Translation Dan Rosenburg
