Chateauguay Municipal Council has purchased two rotating ice-breakers from the Terapro  Longus Group company in Varennes for $60,591. (Translation Dan Rosenburg) ‘’This is not a panacea cure for everything, but it’s a supplementary tool at the disposal of the public works department,’’ explained Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier at the council’s January public meeting. The decision to add this equipment was made after last winter. It was a winter marked by fluctuating weather that left significant coatings of ice on the Chateauguay road network, but also in several other Quebec cities. ‘’The demand is strong and these machines are very effective,’’ said Denis Bessette, regional sales director of the Terapro Longus Group. The enterprise distributes the product manufactured by Gryb in Victoriaville.
