Le défilé de la Saint-Patrick à Châteauguay aura bel et bien lieu

La tradition du défilé de la Saint-Patrick à Châteauguay se poursuivra le dimanche 24 mars. Le vol de 4500 $ amassés pour tenir l’activité, lors du couronnement de la reine, le 9 février, avait remis en question la tenue de cette 15^e édition. Un élan de générosité, notamment via une campagne GoFundMe, a permis de compenser une bonne partie de la perte. «Le défilé aura bien lieu», a ainsi confirmé mercredi,Nancy Martineau, de l’Association héritage irlandais de Châteauguay et Vallée, qui organise le défilé. Pour le soutenir financièrement, un souper spaghettis est prévu ce jeudi 7 mars dès 16h au BLVD Bar & Grill à Châteauguay ainsi qu’un ragoût irlandais à la légion d’Ormstown samedi, 9 mars. St. Patrick’s Parade to be held despite setback

Michel Thibault  Translation Dan Rosenburg The tradition of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Chateauguay will continue on Sunday, March 24. The theft of $4,500 that had been amassed on February 9 during the coronation of the Parade Queen, in order to finance the event, had put the 15^th annual parade in jeopardy. But a burst of generosity, notably through a GoFundMe campaign, enabled organizers to find compensation for a good part of the money lost. ‘’The parade will be held as scheduled,’’ thus confirmed spokesperson Nancy Martineau of the parade organizers, the Chateauguay & Valley Irish Heritage Association, last Wednesday. To help make up the deficit, a benefit spaghetti supper is being planned for Thursday March 7 at the Boulevard Bar & Grill in Chateauguay, beginning at 4 p.m., as well as an Irish stew supper at the Royal Canadian Legion in Ormstown on Saturday, March 9, also at 4 p.m.
