Murder Investigation in Châteauguay

A man in his thirties was killed in Parc de la Commune in Châteauguay on the morning of Saturday, August 22nd. At the time of writing these lines on Monday, the Sûreté du Québec was still investigating the murder and no arrest had been made.   James Richard Curotte, 30, from Kahnawake, was found in critical condition by Châteauguay police at 8am on Saturday.  Residents in the sector had called police to report having heard gunshots. The thirty-year-old was transported to hospital where he subsequently died. The Châteauguay Police have transferred the investigation to the Sûreté du Québec’s personal crimes division. The Parc de la Commune, located across from Île Saint-Bernard in Châteauguay, was closed all weekend by police who were investigating on site.
