The Durham County Poets group from Chateauguay is nominated at the prestigious Canadian JUNO Awards music gala in the Blues Album-of-the-Year category for its fourth album called Hand Me Down Blues. These musicians are being nominated for the second time. In November of 2019, they were nominated at the Maple Blues Awards in the ‘’New Artist or Group of the Year’’ category. ‘’Wow! After this one I’m trying to think… wow! We are really grateful for the music milieu and for all the blues fans. We are really grateful and we are looking ahead to make more music as long as God allows us to,’’ said the group’s lead singer Kevin Harvey. Durham County Poets, formed in 2011, is also composed of guitarists David Whyte and Neil Elsmore, bassist Carl Rufh and percussionist Rob Couture. Some musicians from the group Fuel Junkie also take part in certain of their events. ‘’Words cannot even express to what point this news is inspiring for us after working together for such a long time,’’ remarked Elsmore in a Facebook comment. ‘’In truth, it’s really an honour just to be nominated!! But I still hope that we win!!’’ The 49th edition of the JUNO Awards and JUNO Week will be held from March 9-15 in Saskatoon and will be broadcast by CBC  Music.
