The maintenance work mainly focused on repairing the slabs will continue on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge between Kahnawake and Montreal, from July 17 10pm, to August 17, 5am. One lane will be closed in both directions for that period of time, indicates ministère des Transports.
To ease the circulation, multiple measures will be put in place. For example, public transport will be free on certain lines from July 20 to 24:
-Free passage for exo’s bus in Haut-Saint-Laurent and Sud-Ouest areas that are circulating on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge;
-Free passage for the train service on the exo4 Candiac line;
-Tickets distributed by STM to commuters boarding at the Candiac, Delson, Saint-Constant and Sainte-Catherine train stations;
-Tickets distributed to onboarding passengers from Haut-Saint-Laurent and Sud-Ouest areas’ bus that will circulate on the bridge.
The ministère des Transports also communicated other solutions to lessen the construction’s impacts:
-Extension of operation hours for the multifunctional lane on the 132/138 Highway, every day, from 5am to 8pm;
-Continuity of exo services’ schedules for Haut-Saint-Laurent and Sud-Ouest areas’ bus;
-Restricted circulation for trucks with three axles or more during rush hours, weekdays from 3pm to 7pm towards the South Shore and from 5am to 9:30am towards Montreal;
-Extension of rush hours on the Victoria Bridge, from 5am to 10am on both lanes towards Montreal, and from 2:30pm to 8pm on both lanes towards the South Shore.
