We have talked about this enough times,” he noted. Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier formulated his request in the form of a resolution in these words: “That the traffic committee can quickly propose to council some efficient parking methods for the winter season”. The resolution was unanimously accepted. Examples of other cities Several cities have stopped completely banning overnight parking during the winter during the past few years. This is notably the case in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Between December 1 and April 1, the City indicates to the public every day whether parking is permitted in its streets or not. This is done via various methods of communication, including Facebook. The City of Chambly permits overnight winter parking from November 15 to April 15, except when a snow removal notice is in force. The citizens can be advised by an alert or can inform themselves on the City’s website, Facebook page, electronic panels or by telephone.
