Pierre Moreau serein dans la défaite

(English follows) Le député libéral sortant dans la circonscription de Châteauguay, Pierre Moreau, encaisse sa défaite aux mains de la caquiste Marie-Chantal Chassé avec humilité. «Mes premiers mots vont à mon équipe. On a donné tout ce qu’on pouvait. Mais c’est la démocratie qui a parlé ce soir. Je pense qu’on a fait de très belles choses dans cette circonscription, et je pense qu’il y a encore beaucoup à faire et je souhaite la meilleure des chances à ceux qui suivront, plus particulièrement à Mme Chassé et à son équipe. Je veux leur dire qu’ils ont le privilège de représenter des gens extraordinaires que je remercie  du fond du cœur» a-t-il exprimé devant ses partisans réunis au bar resto lounge La Chapelle, à Mercier,  le 1^er octobre. Moreau a également remercié tous les gens de la circonscription qui lui ont fait confiance à trois reprises au cours des dix dernières années pour les représenter à l’Assemblée nationale. «Outre les fonctions qui m’ont été confiées par le premier ministre, j’ai toujours dit que mon rôle le plus important était celui de député de Châteauguay» a-t-il confié avant d’ajouter qu’il sortait de cette expérience «extrêmement serein». «Je sors grandi d’avoir eu l’honneur de vous connaître tous et toutes» a-t-il conclu.  M. Moreau représentait la circonscription de Châteauguay depuis 2008.

Moreau serene in defeat

The outgoing Liberal MNA in the Chateauguay riding, Pierre Moreau, is receiving his defeat at the hands of CAQ candidate Marie-Chantale Chasse with humility. ’’My first words are directed to my team. We gave all we could. But it’s democracy that spoke tonight. I think we did some very beautiful things in this riding, and I think that there still much to do and I wish the best of luck to those who will follow, most particularly Madam Chasse and her team. I want to tell them that they have the privilege of representing some extraordinary people whom I thank from the bottom of my heart,’’ he expressed in front of his partisan followers who gathered at the La Chappelle resto-bar in Mercier on October 1. Moreau also thanked all the people in the riding who had confidence in him in three elections during the 10 years during which he represented them in the National Assembly. ‘’Besides the functions which were entrusted in me by the Premier, I always said that my most important role was the one of the Chateauguay MNA,’’ he confided before adding that he was leaving this experience ‘’extremely serene. I leave grown taller for having had the honour to know all of you,’’ he concluded. Moreau had represented Chateauguay county since 2008. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
