Despite being closed for many months due to the pandemic, Châteauguay’s Sun-K restaurant has not permanently put an end to its operations. “We will open when it is completely safe to do so,” James Lee, who co-owns the establishment with his parents, confirmed to the newspaper on Wednesday. The family has been serving Chinese food at its D’Anjou Boulevard restaurant for over 40 years and there is no question of stopping now, Mr. Lee reassured. “We really appreciate our clients and look forward to seeing them again,” he emphasized. The same can be said for restaurant clientele. A number of citizens have recently contacted the newspaper admitting to missing meals from Sun-K and expressing concern about it being closed permanently. “Why don’t they offer take out and delivery,” one client asked. “Our speciality is the buffet and dining room. It would have been challenging to offer take-out dishes,” explained Mr. Lee. His mother who works the cash register is also among those who are more vulnerable to COVID due to her age, he observed.
