Châteauguay mayoral candidate Éric Allard’s team says they “are dreaming of a magnificent green space” in the Hydro-Québec servitude that is currently being cleared of its towers. The idea of creating a linear park in the servitude was launched by outgoing city councillor Mike Gendron, stated Mr. Allard in a press release. “This idea of a linear park is Mike Gendron's and I completely agree with it,” he said. The team would like to gather the public’s opinions on the matter. They will formulate a few proposals “to launch discussions”. Either “bicycle path bordered by vegetation all along the linear park; challenge course and hiking trails with themes; simple tree plantings, flower paths and park benches and any other project with strong environmental value.” Mr. Allard stipulated that it is “difficult to determine whether these examples are attainable at the moment” but they “nonetheless want to begin reflections right away.” “What ideas do you have?” he concluded.
