Road users who regularly use D’Anjou Boulevard in Châteauguay are now driving on a freshly repaved surface, between Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard and Normand Street. As for the section that connects to the Laberge Bridge, users will have to wait until 2024 for its resurfacing.

On its website, the city explains that the section between Normand Street and the Arthur-Laberge Bridge “has undergone minor repairs, as the city will be replacing the sewer pipes in 2024.”

The city informed the newspaper that on that section of D’Anjou Boulevard sewers combine waste and storm water lines. “Significant work needs to be done to meet the recent Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change standards for this type of system. Preparatory work will be performed in 2023 in preparation for improvements in 2024.”

To save on costs and avoid doing work twice on the same section in a short period of time, “only the damaged areas have been repaired at this time.”

This summer’s work, between St. Jean Baptiste Boulevard and Normand Street, included replacement of manhole frames and covers as well as levelling and paving of the roadway.
