Two Chateauguay boys brought happiness to senior citizens with sticky snow having fallen in the background on Saturday, January 17. Mason Weldrick, 12, and Ryder Higgs, 11, built snowmen in front of CHSLDs and seniors’ residences in the municipality. “They made them so that the residents could see them,” noted Micheline Fournel-Weldrick, Mason’s mom. The two friends baptized themselves “the snowmen bandits.” They notably made a snowman at the Manoir Parent. At that spot, Guy Irish Berger informed the residents. “I went upstairs and told the residents,” he commented on Facebook. “They are so happy and thankful. Again, thank you for putting a smile on their faces during these hard times.” The two friends also exercised their talents with the creation of snow characters at the Champlain and the Chateauguay CHSLD. They were very proud of making the people happy, according to their parents. “On my God, they were so happy. And some gentlemen stayed out to watch, saying ‘thank you, boys.’ We have great kids,” Fournel-Weldrick wrote on Facebook. Mama de Ryder, Kelly Higgs, approved by drawing a heart.
