Woman sustained gunshot wound : “Important” Witnesses Released

The individual who shot a woman on Monday, June 22nd, is still at large. Translation courtesy Amanda Bennett No arrest has been made in this matter, Benoit Richard, from the Sûreté du Québec confirmed to the newspaper. The two “important” witnesses intercepted in a vehicle in Kahnawake that same night were released. “No charges will be brought against them”, the police spokesperson stated. Several gunshots were fired on the evening of June 22nd. Police were alerted to a woman injured by projectiles on Marc-Laplante Street at approximately 11:30 pm. The woman has been treated. Three accidented vehicles were found on site. The circumstances still remain unclear.  “The investigation is still ongoing”, Benoit Richard stated. Murder Is there a link between this event on June 22nd and the murder of James Richard Curotte, which occurred on Saturday, August 22nd in Châteauguay, for which a man by the name of Justin Moore was arrested and charged two days later? “There is no link with that. They are two separate events”, said Mr. Richard in response to the question.
