Élections Châteauguay: un ancien conseiller de nouveau candidat

(English follows) L’ancien conseiller municipal Anthony Boffice, qui a siégé au conseil de Ville de Châteauguay de 2003 à 2009, se présente comme candidat indépendant dans le district de Lanoue (#1). «C’est une décision de dernière minute», confie M. Boffice, qui dit avoir pris sa décision parce qu’il était insatisfait du conseil actuel. «Je pense qu’un conseiller doit d’abord être la voix des citoyens qu’il représente et voter en fonction de ce qui ressort de ses consultations avec eux. Actuellement, les conseillers qui sont dans l’équipe de la mairesse votent en général toujours en faveur des projets. Et si les quatre indépendants votent contre, la mairesse brise l’égalité. Je trouve qu’il y a un manque à ce niveau», plaide-t-il, en soutenant avoir déjà voté contre des projets alors qu’il faisait partie de l’équipe de l’ancien maire Sergio Pavone. Le candidat croit également que la Ville accuse un retard de développement. «C’est bien beau d’investir dans des chalets et des centres sportifs, mais on ne fait rien pour aider le secteur commercial et industriel», déplore-t-il. Après son mandat de conseiller, il s’était présenté comme candidat indépendant à la mairie aux élections de 2009. «C’était juste pour créer un discours. Chateauguay elections: Former councillor a candidate again

Former municipal councillor Anthony Boffice, who sat on the Chateauguay City Council from 2003 to 2009, is presenting himself as an independent candidate in Ward 1 (Lanoue). «It's a last-minute decision, » confides Boffice, who says he made his decision because he was dissatisfied with the current council. « I think that a councillor must above all be the voice of the citizens he represents and vote according to what pertains to his consultations with them. The candidate also believes that the City is lagging in terms of development. « It's all very well to invest in chalets and sports centres, but nothing is being done to help the commercial and industrial sector, » he deplores. Following his mandate as councillor, he presented himself as an independent mayoral candidate in the elections of 2009. « It was just to create some discourse.
