Groupe ALI Excavation has just been awarded two major contracts in Châteauguay. The Valleyfield company will be responsible for redesigning boulevard Saint-Francis as well as civil engineering work in preparation for the Maison des Aînés’ construction.

A $10M contract was awarded by the municipal administration to redesign St-Francis Boulevard and Jeffries Street. This project includes the reconstruction of a segment of the aqueduct and sewer system over a stretch varying from 250-300 metres, to over 1200 linear metres of conduits of all kinds, including the sewer network, rainwater conduits, connections to all the gas and electrical networks.

In a press release, the company indicated that the work will be deployed between Salaberry Nord Boulevard and des Tulipes Street, as well as the entirety of Jeffries Street. The ALI Excavation construction site will be launched at the end of September and will be completed during the summer of 2022.

“We are proud to contribute to revitalizing one of Châteauguay’s strategic intersections and once again having an opportunity to showcase our in-depth expertise in civil engineering,” indicated the President of Groupe ALI Excavation, Marc-André Loiselle.

Five companies bid on this project.

The company was awarded another contract, this time valued at $2M, following a call for tenders held by the Société Québécoise des Infrastructures for work related to the construction of a Maison des Aînés in Châteauguay. ALI Excavation will be responsible for the civil engineering work pertaining to the development of, and preparation for, the site on Principale Street. Three companies had submitted a bid in as part of the call for tenders.

The grading of the site, the paving of parking lots and service spaces, storm drainage, sidewalks and concrete curbs will be started gradually in October 2021 with an anticipated delivery in the summer of 2022, the Valleyfield company explained.

Eventually, the Maison des Aînés will have 120 places for the region’s population, including 96 places for seniors and 24 for adults with specific and particular needs.

The president of Groupe ALI Excavation says he has a particular attachment to the project because his company recently became a major sponsor of the Châteauguay Grenadiers team in the U18 AAA hockey league.
