After planting a micro-forest with 1,673 trees in October, another 350 trees have been planted in a 100-square-metre area near rue des Sittelles in Châteauguay.

These new plantings of 20 different native species were donated by Services d’arbres Primeau after having taken care of the 1673 trees at the intersection of rue Lautrec and rue des Bouleaux.

Both created within the Châteauguay’s 350th anniversary celebrations, the 350 trees and October’s microforest were complementary;  the combined number of plantings is 2023, a tribute to this calendar year,” explained Guy Primeau, owner of Services d’arbres Primeau, in an interview with the newspaper.

The Léry-based company financed “the land, machinery and labour required for transporting and planting the trees,” said the City of Châteauguay in a press release.
