A scene from a coming Elton John video clip has been filmed in Chateauguay on December 20. It is a sequence which promises to be spectacular.

The cranes holding the cameras and the lighting apparatus high in the air. Ohers holding an acrobatic trapeze. Some people who covered a lot with dead leaves, lugged about a ladder, placed accessories, and had discussions. Situated in a quiet residential section, the small street named Carre Richard was very animated last Sunday before Christmas.

The sequence will show a couple of dancers played by acrobats flying in the air thanks to a trapeze. . A scene filmed from on high, in a counter-plunge, after sunset. «At night, it is going to be very beautiful with the lighting. We needed space. We have cranes to help the dancers fly,” explained Martin Henri, the associate producer of Romeo & Fils, interviewed in the afternoon. He’s not the one who produced the video, he clarified. His friend Richard Cureton from Revolver Films in Toronto who asked him for his cooperation to fill the order for the Universal film company.

How was Châteauguay chosen?

How was Chateauguay retained to work on the video of the British rock star? Martin Henri explained that he had made a synchronization in the sector recently for a feature film. “We really didn’t have los of time to do the clip. “I brought out by photos for the film director and he liked them a lot. It was exactly what he wanted as the type of decor,” he noted.

The sector was pleasing because it “looked like a place, I don’t know where.” “It can look like everywhere – the United States, Canada, whatever,” Henri mentioned.

Filming discreet

Once night fell, the filming was done discreetly. Barricades were placed at the two extremities of the “u” of Carre Richard which opens into Wilbrod street. Some employees forbid passersby to go to the zone of the street serving as the filming platform.

Those who were hoping to see the celebrity singer would have been disappointed. His presence was not required for that scene. “He isn’t here,” Henri assured.

Exit

People from the region and the entire planet will be able to see the scene filmed in Chateauguay at the beginning of 2016. The launching of the video clip produced by Thibaud Duvernay is scheduled for January 10 or 11, according to Martin Henri.

In the name of Roméo & Fils, Henri wanted to thank the residents of Carre Richard.

“They were unbelievably cooperative and patient!” he said appreciatively.
