The access ramp for Highway 138 east on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge towards Montreal, which had been closed since July 17th, opened five days in advance. Work that was scheduled to end on July 29th was completed earlier than expected, on Saturday, July 24th.

"[It’s because] of the favourable weather that we had, with very little rain," said Communications Director for the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Corporation, Nathalie Lessard. Levelling and paving work are weather-sensitive.”

All access ramps from the South Shore to Montreal via the bridge are now open to trucks.
