Un autre blitz de travaux au pont Mercier cet été

(English follows) Le ministère des Transports annonce un blitz de huit semaines de travaux sur le pont Honoré Mercier pendant la période estivale. Des entraves à la circulation sont à prévoir. Le chantier commencera le 22 juin, dès 22h, et se poursuivra jusqu’au 20 août, 5h. Pendant cette période, la structure de juridiction provinciale menant vers la Rive-Sud sera complètement fermée à la circulation. Les automobilistes seront donc redirigés, à la hauteur de la voie maritime, vers l’autre structure du pont (celle allant vers Montréal), où une voie sera disponible dans chacune des directions. Entrée Airlie fermée Ces travaux occasionneront un détour pour les automobilistes en provenance de Montréal, puisqu’il y aura fermeture de l’entrée Airlie. «Il y aura un détour par les avenues Lafleur et Clément, précise Benoît Lachance, porte-parole du MTQ. Pour minimiser l’impact de cette fermeture sur la circulation, l’entrée Airlie demeurera accessible aux autobus», ajoute-t-il. «Gros coup» [caption id="attachment_44158" align="alignright" width="317"] Les blocs temporaires qui servent actuellement de garde-fous.[/caption] Le MTQ profite de la baisse d’achalandage sur le pont pendant l’été pour donner un «gros coup» dans les travaux. Au terme de ce blitz, le MTQ pourra augmenter la largeur des voies à 3,9 mètres et rétablir la vitesse à 70 km/h (qui est actuellement limitée à 50km/h en raison d’une largeur réduite des voies). D’autres travaux à venir Les automobilistes doivent toutefois s’attendre à d’autres fermetures de nuit et le week-end par la suite, avertit M. Lachance. Ce afin de poursuivre l’entretien «normal» des deux structures sous juridiction provinciale.
