As of today, Monday, April 20th, the MRC de Roussillon is once again allowing citizens to leave bulkier items such as furniture, appliances and mattresses at the curb for collection. Such items had not been collected since the beginning of last month. Translation courtesy Amanda Bennett The MRC stated that it has worked on solutions, which included acquiring specialized equipment and adapting procedures, so that this service could resume. Citizens must respect certain restrictions. Even so, the MRC encourages people to wait until the end of the pandemic to throw out their larger items. Items must be placed at the curb 24 hours before collection time, be readily accessible, 60 cm (2 ft) apart and be devoid of any nails, screws or sharp edges. Those who are COVID-19 positive or who have symptoms are asked not to dispose of their bulky items.
