In an article published on February 7th, Noovo Media stated that the municipal administration confirmed the temporary suspension of Ms. Séguin as part of an internal investigation, without disclosing its contents.

“Ms. Séguin is still employed by the City of Châteauguay as the Director of the Châteauguay Police Department, she has not been relieved of her functions,” indicated Audrey Jacques, the city’s Director of Communications.

Questioned as to whether an investigation was underway, Ms. Jacques replied that she could not discuss the matter further due to an ongoing and confidential file.

In a document dated January 27th, the city indicated that Luc Pellerin is the interim director of the Châteauguay Police Department.

Ginette Séguin is a former senior officer within the Sureté du Québec (SQ) and is the first woman to head the Châteauguay Police Department. She has held the position since April of 2022.
