Cinq visites gratuites à l’écocentre

(English follows) Les citoyens de Châteauguay bénéficient désormais de cinq visites gratuites plutôt que trois à l’écocentre. Ce, en vertu d’un nouveau contrat signé entre la Ville et la compagnie du Centre de tri Mélimax , qui assurera la gestion de ce service pour les cinq prochaines années. Le montant du contrat est de 1,7 M$ pour cette période, un montant identique à l’ancien contrat. «Pour maintenir ce prix, il a fallu modifier les heures d’ouverture de l’écocentre», a toutefois spécifié le maire Pierre-Paul Routhier, lors de la séance du conseil du 22 mai. Du lundi au mercredi, la fermeture pourrait être devancée à 17h. L’horaire restera le même pour les autres jours de la semaine, incluant le samedi et le dimanche.

Five free visits to ecocentre

Chateauguay citizens are from now on benefiting from five free visits instead of three to the ecocentre. This is by virtue of a new contract signed by the City with the  Melimax sorting centre company, which will assure the management of this service for the next five years. The amount of the contract is for $1.7 million for that period, an amount identical to the old pact. ‘’To maintain this price, we had to modify the opening hours of the ecocentre,’’ nevertheless specified Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier at the Council meeting of May 22. From Monday to Wednesday, the closing could be advanced to 5 p.m. The schedule will stay the same for the other days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
