Le Circuit du Paysan a 20 ans

(Texte de Marie-Josée Bétournay - English follows) Les consommateurs qui souhaitent se rabattre sur les produits locaux peuvent se tourner vers le Circuit du Paysan, un trajet signalisé de 194 kilomètres dans la Vallée du Haut-Saint-Laurent et le Haut-Richelieu. Le Circuit, qui célèbre son 20^e anniversaire, regroupe des vignobles, fromageries et fermes d’élevage, entre autres. Chaque membre est identifié aux couleurs du Circuit. La députée de Châteauguay-Lacolle Brenda Shanahan et la ministre de la Petite entreprise et du Tourisme Bardish Chagger étaient de passage à la Fromagerie Ruban Bleu à Mercier, membre du Circuit du Paysan, le vendredi 13 juillet pour une visite des installations. Mme Shanahan explique que cet arrêt visait à souligner le 20^e anniversaire du Circuit et faire découvrir l’activité touristique régionale. «On profite d’entrepreneurs créatifs, d’attraits intéressants autant pour les touristes locaux que pour ceux qui viennent d’ailleurs. C’est pour mettre la lumière sur notre région», dit-elle.

Circuit du Paysan fetes 20 years

Shanahan explains that this stop sought to highlight the 20th anniversary of the Circuit and help people to discover this regional touristic activity. ‘’We are benefiting from creative entrepreneurs and interesting attractions, both for local tourists and for those who come from elsewhere. It’s to put the spotlight on our region,’’ she says.
