New COVID-19 Cases Are Few Within the Region. Only one additional case was confirmed between June 30th and July 3rd among the municipalities within the Soleil de Châteauguay’s territory. With a total of 89, Beauharnois had one more case, according to the data published on Friday by the Montérégie Public Health Directorate. Châteauguay had one less case and its total now stands at 264. Sometimes adjustments are made to the place of residence of an individual who tests positive. Mercier still posted a total of 104 cases, Sainte-Martine 31 (stable), Kahnawake 23 (stable), Léry 9 (stable) and Saint-Isidore 8 (stable). Mercier, Sainte-Martine, Kahnawake and Léry have not had any new confirmed cases in the last 13 days. According to the data published on Thursday by the Montérégie Public Health Directorate, over the 7-day period between June 24th and July 1st, fewer than five new cases were recorded within the 11 cities that make up the MRC de Roussillon. The previous week, 6 cases had been detected within the territory and there were fewer than five cases during the 7 days prior to that. We are observing a decrease in the virus’ spread in spite of deconfinement, which began in June. Social distancing guidelines seem to have proven effective. The social distancing measures remain in effect.
