Élections municipales : Châteauguay «dort», selon Pierre-Paul Routhier

(English follows) Le candidat à la mairie Pierre-Paul Routhier soutient que même si elle est «belle et formidable», Châteauguay «dort». Il reproche de ce fait à l’administration Simon une approche «défavorable à la revivification économique».

Châteauguay «ne fait tellement pas de bruit que personne n’y prête attention, écrit-il dans un communiqué le 11 août. On se fait damer le pion par Beauharnois, Saint-Constant et même Mercier et Sainte-Martine», clame le candidat, qui dit vouloir changer l’approche à l’Hôtel de Ville s’il est élu.

L’avocat de profession reproche entre autres à  l’administration Simon de ne pas avoir su stimuler le développement économique sur le territoire. «Peut-être y a-t-il plusieurs raisons pour l’actuelle morosité économique. Toutefois, je crois que la principale raison est l’approche adoptée par Mme Simon. En isolant les conseillers indépendants, elle se prive d’idées formidables. Je veux exercer un leadership à l’inverse et aller chercher le meilleur de tout le monde, incluant les citoyens, les bâtisseurs, les institutions et les commerçants», soutient M. Routhier.

Celui-ci envisage de miser sur la promotion des «plus beaux atouts de Châteauguay pour créer une ambiance positive et favorable pour revivifier son activité économique et sociale», explique-t-il.

Parmi les membres de l’équipe de Pierre-Paul Routhier sont réunis tous les conseillers indépendants de l’actuel conseil municipal de la Ville de Châteauguay.

Mayoral candidate Pierre-Paul Routhier claims that even if Chateauguay is « beautiful and formidable, » the city « is sleeping. » He reproaches the Nathalie Simon administration for this fact because of its approach that is « unfavourable to economic revitalization. »

Chateauguay «makes such little noise that no one pays it any attention, » he writes in a communique on August 11. « We have been outsmarted by Beauharnois, St. Constant and even Mercier and Ste. Martine, » claims the candidate, who says he wants to change the approach at City Hall if he is elected.

The lawyer by profession reproaches among other things the Simon administration for having not known how to stimulate economic development on the territory. « Perhaps there are several reasons for the current economic moroseness. Still, I believe that the main reason is the approach adopted by Madam Simon. By isolating the independent councillors, she deprives herself of formidable ideas. I want to exert a leadership in the opposite direction and go search for the best from everyone, including the citizens, the builders, the institutions and the merchants, » Routhier maintains.  

He envisions counting on the promotion of « the nost beautiful assets of Chateauguay to create a positive and favourable ambiance to revive its economic and social activity, » he explains.

Among the members of the Routhier team are reunited all the independent councillors of the current Chateauguay municipal council.
