Federal Elections : List of Candidates in the Region Confirmed

Elections Canada has confirmed the participation of six candidates in the federal election across the three ridings covered by Le Soleil de Châteauguay, namely Châteauguay—Les Jardins de Napierville and Beauharnois–Salaberry–Soulanges–Huntingdon.
Châteauguay—Les Jardins de Napierville
In Châteauguay—Les Jardins de Napierville, the candidates are Martine Desrochers (Green Party), Nicolas Guérin (People’s Party), Patrick O’Hara (Bloc québécois), Nathalie Provost (Liberal Party), David De Repentigny (Conservative Party), and Hannah Wolker (New Democratic Party).
Beauharnois–Salaberry–Soulanges–Huntingdon
In Beauharnois–Salaberry–Soulanges–Huntingdon, the candidates are Claude DeBellefeuille (Bloc Québécois), Tyler Jones (New Democratic Party), Martin Lévesque (People’s Party), Kristian Solarik (Green Party), and Priska St-Pierre (Conservative Party).
It is worth noting that Ms. DeBellefeuille is the incumbent MP in her riding.
In Châteauguay—Les Jardins de Napierville, which was named Châteauguay—Lacolle in 2021, the Liberal Brenda Shanahan won the seat by just 12 votes over Bloc Québécois candidate Patrick O’Hara. Ms. Shanahan has decided not to run in 2025.
When to Vote?
Election day is April 28.
Advance voting is also available for four days, from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Additionally, citizens can vote by special ballot any day until Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. To do so, they must go to one of approximately 500 Elections Canada offices. These offices are open seven days a week: from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
