Kahnawake hôte d'un championnat national de crosse en 2019

Kahnawake accueillera la Coupe du Président de crosse en 2019. (English follows) Le championnat canadien en enclos senior B sera disputé au Complexe sportif de Kahnawake du 26 août au 1er septembre. C’est la troisième fois que ce tournoi national se tient dans la réserve. En 2000 et 2013, les meilleurs joueurs au pays y avaient rendez-vous. «Nous avons organisé un tournoi fort réussi en 2013, et notre objectif est de monter un spectacle sportif sans précédent pour les partisans de crosse locaux», fait part dans un communiqué Greg Horn, directeur général de l’équipe des Mohawks de Kahnawake, de la Ligue de crosse senior du Québec. «L’Association canadienne de crosse est très heureuse de retourner à Kahnawake, où l’organisation des Kahnawake Mohawks nous réserve toujours un chaleureux accueil,» a affirmé AJ Jomha, directeur des championnats nationaux chez l’Association canadienne de crosse. «Dans le passé, ils ont organisé un tournoi de premier ordre, et nous sommes très confiants qu’ils feront de cette édition de la Coupe du Président une expérience inoubliable pour tous ceux qui y participent.» Fondée en 1867, l’Association canadienne de crosse (ACC) veille à la gouvernance de tous les aspects du sport de crosse au Canada. Elle regroupe 10 associations-membres qui représentent presque 85 000 participants et participantes individuels, dont entraîneurs, officiels et athlètes de tous les âges et tous les niveaux.
