New Frontiers School Board : a new Director General in June

Mike Helm will take over as Director General of the New Frontiers School Board on June 1. He succeeds Rob Buttars, who announced his retirement on March 14.

Mr. Helm has been in education and administration for 26 years and is the Deputy Director General and Secretary General of the school board. He holds a Bachelor’s of Education from McGill University in Montreal, obtained in 1997, and also completed a master’s degree in educational leadership at the same institution in 2012.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Mr. Helm as our new Director General as he leads New Frontiers into the future,” said John Ryan, Chair of the New Frontiers School Board Council of Commissioners, in a press release.

The current Director General of the New Frontiers School Board, Rob Buttars, has been involved in education within the organization’s schools for 18 years. “His tireless efforts and dedication to New Frontiers have contributed to our school board’s success, and he will certainly be missed,” Ryan said in a news release. Buttars has served as the school board’s Director General for the past 10 years, according to the New Frontiers School Board’s Facebook page.
