His wife, Erika Oostveen, made the announcement Saturday morning via her Facebook page. “I lost a big part of my heart. Andrew, I can’t understand why you left us so soon. You had so many projects ahead, and you were so eager to work for the city of Châteauguay as a city councillor. I can’t believe you’re gone,” she lamented.

As the owner of Châteauguay business Photo FX, Andrew captured hundreds, even thousands of sporting events in the region as part of his work. He also took so many children’s school pictures over the years.

He was Le Soleil’s official photographer for over 20 years and was well known for sports photography, among others.

Andrew was involved in organizations like Bouffe Partage which offers food assistance to families in need in the Châteauguay area.

Recently Andrew announced that he was interested in making the leap into municipal politics with the Impact Châteauguay party. Its leader, mayoral candidate Lucie Lamoureux, took to her party’s Facebook page this morning to express her sadness at her team member’s sudden passing.

“I believe he was the nicest human being I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was also the biggest connector, someone had a need, another was providing a service and bang, he made the connection between these two people,” Ms. Lamoureux wrote.

“We were honoured that he was on our team, he sincerely wanted to change the course of things, meet the needs of citizens. He would have been so perfect. We are losing an ally, a friend and an exceptional human being,” she went on.

Andrew Clark is survived by his wife and two children.
