Chateauguay police are intervening at Howard S. Billings High School in Chateauguay on Thursday, November 7 to make some verifications following threats against a student. School principal Lynn Claude wrote a message on the school’s Facebook page to inform the parents. She indicates there, ‘’this morning HSB Administration was made aware of the potential of students from another school coming to ‘settle a score’ with an HSB student.’’ The police presence was increased at the school and the police made some verifications. Sgt.  Martin Dionne indicated that a pupil with knife had been intercepted. The police were busy interrogating him. He specified that police were still at the scene at 2 p.m. and that there had been no lockdown process. ‘’The classes are being held as usual,’’ he indicated. The principal asked the parents to sensitize their children as to the importance of reporting behaviour or information that was suspicious or menacing. ‘’The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We can all work together to create a safe environment for student learning,’’ she wrote. (Translation Dan Rosenburg)
